Someone opens up to you. What do you do next?

Knowing Scripture is one thing. Knowing what to say is another.

We equip Christians in local churches across the island of Ireland to bring the wisdom of Scripture into life's hard conversations.

Someone will tell you something hard this year. Probably this week.

  • A marriage coming apart.

  • Anxiety that won’t lift.

  • A worrying diagnosis.

It may happen at the kitchen table, in the car park, or in a message at eleven at night.

You want to help. But knowing the truth of Scripture and knowing how to bring it wisely into this person’s struggle are two different things.

The care is already happening.

  • Discipleship.
  • Encouraging one another daily.
  • Biblical counselling.

Different names for what the church has been doing from the beginning: speaking into one another’s lives.

The question is how wisely, how biblically, and how much like Christ we do it. God’s word speaks with real wisdom and hope into the things people carry. We can learn to bring that wisdom into our conversations with greater care and skill.

What Equipped to Care exists for.

Equipped to Care helps Christians and local churches across the island of Ireland grow in the wisdom, skill and confidence to care for one another well.

The conversations are already happening. We want to help you be ready for them.

Our prayer

Now picture that spreading.

  1. One conversation.Someone opens up, and the Christian beside them listens, brings Scripture with care, and stays alongside them.
  2. Then another. Then it happens again, in another kitchen, another car park, another church. People speak honestly. Burdens are shared. Wise care becomes part of the church’s everyday life.
  3. Then a culture of care. That is our prayer for the island of Ireland: people growing more like Christ, churches growing in wisdom and love, and a culture of biblical care taking root in the places where life is lived.

For your church

What could this look like in your church?

Equipped to Care works alongside local churches to strengthen the care already happening among their people. That might mean a resource to share, an online seminar for a group that already meets, joined live or watched later, or training for people ready to go further, so that more Christians can bring Scripture into one another’s lives with wisdom and love.

Prayer. Generosity. Partnership.

Equip one Christian. Shape many conversations.

Prayer and generosity help make resources and training available to Christians across the island of Ireland. You may never be in the room for the conversations that follow, but you can help equip the person who is.
